Abraham acrobatics as the Blues begin training away

Summer training camp is properly underway below blue skies in Ireland with the travelling Chelsea players taking to the pitch for the first time.

Though there was plenty of intensity about a session that had at its heart some match-based action on a quarter-sized pitch, with space to dwell on the ball at a premium, there was time at the end for some free-kick and penalty-taking practice, and for one of our strikers in particular, there was a finish worth celebrating!

It is a short walk from the team’s hotel to the training pitches so following lunch and a rest on the back of the journey over from Cobham, action began with a warm-up and then onto the ball work, and here we have images that give a flavour of what is going to be a busy week of work…
