• Twenty years since the West Stand opened fully for the first time with Newcastle the visitors, resulting in a 1-1 draw and Stamford Bridge’s biggest crowd since 1988: 40,124. (19 Aug 2001)• Sixty years since the end of Chelsea’s longest run without a clean sheet in all competitions (31 matches) with a 2-0 victory at home to Man United (30 Aug 1961).• Sixty years since Tommy Docherty made his debut as player-coach in a 6-1 defeat at Sheffield United (9 Sep 1961). • Fifty years since our record away win in a competitive fixture: 8–0 away to Jeunesse Hautcharage in the Cup Winners' Cup (15 Sep 1971).• Fifty years since our record win in a competitive fixture: 13–0 at home to Jeunesse Hautcharage in the Cup Winners' Cup (29 Sep 1971).• Also 60 years since title-winning manager Ted Drake’s final game in charge – a 0-4 at Blackpool that left the Blues second from bottom (30 Sep 1961).• Twenty years since 20-year-old John Terry wore the captain’s armband for the first time in the absence of Marcel Desailly (5 Dec 2001).

• Fifty years since our highest ever home attendance in the League Cup, of 43,330 for the visit of Tottenham Hotspur (22 Dec 1971).

• Ninety years since Chelsea recovered from two-nil down after 20 minutes to plucky Tranmere in the FA Cup at the Bridge to win 5-3, with Hughie Gallacher on the scoresheet (13 Jan 1932).

• Fifty-five years since our highest-ever home attendance in Europe, 59,541, against AC Milan in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup (16 Feb 1966).

• Fifty years since the Chelsea anthem ‘Blue Is The Colour’ was released. Produced by Blues fan Larry Page, it reached number five in the UK singles chart (18 Feb 1972).

• Fifty years since Hollywood pin-up Raquel Welch causes a stir by visiting the Bridge to watch Chelsea and her hero Peter Osgood, the day before his birthday (19 Feb 1972).

• Sixty years since Ron ‘Chopper’ Harris made his debut aged 17 in a 1-0 home win against Sheff Wed. His final match was a 3-0 win against Oldham 18 years and 783 games later on (24 Feb 1962).

• Ten years since head coach Andre Villas-Boas was succeeded by his assistant Roberto Di Matteo, joined by another popular former player, Eddie Newton (4 Mar 2012).

• Fifty years since the Blues surprisingly lost 1-2 to Stoke City in the League Cup final (4 Mar 1972).

• 150 years since the first ever FA Cup final between Wanderers and Royal Engineers (16 Mar 1872)

• Forty years since Ken Bates began his 31-year tenure at Chelsea Football Club with the purchase of the club for £1 (1 Apr 1982)

• Forty years since Paul Canoville became the first black player to represent Chelsea at first team level (12 Apr 1982)

• Forty years since a resolution that transferred the Stamford Bridge freehold from Chelsea FC to the SB Property Co, which was later sold to property developers Marler Estates, initiating the ‘battle of the Bridge’ (26 Apr 1982).

• 110 years since Charlie Freeman secured Chelsea’s second-ever promotion to Division One with the only goal of the game against Bradford (27 Apr 1912).

• Thirty years since debut substitute Eddie Newton scored Chelsea’s last Football League goal before the advent of the Premier League, away to Everton (2 May 1992).

• Ten years since Didier Drogba’s shoot-out penalty sealed Chelsea’s Champions League final victory over Bayern Munich on their own ground (19 May 2012).
