Blues eyeing Coman

Chelsea are reportedly interested in Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.

According to BILD, the Blues are keen to sign the winger this summer as he is rumoured to want to leave the German champions.

Coman’s contract with Bayern expires in 2023 but he is currently locked in contract negotiations with his club as they refuse to match the 25-year-old’s demands.

‘A move away is not ruled out but Bayern’s price appears to have changed Coman’s stance,’ the report claims. ‘It’s stated that he can now imagine leaving free of charge in 2023 just like David Alaba.’

The 24-year-old scored eight goals and picked up 15 assists in the German giants’ title-winning season.

Lukaku likened to Drogba

BBC Sport journalist Garth Crooks has compared Romelu Lukaku’s playing style to Didier Drogba.

Writing in his column, Crooks added the Belgian striker to his team of the week after his second Chelsea debut against Arsenal.

‘He has worked extremely hard for his success,’ Crooks said. ‘He played for West Bromwich Albion, Everton, Manchester United, Inter Milan and has now returned to Chelsea where it all started.

‘However, what I see at this stage of his career is another Drogba. The player’s touch with his back to goal is better and his all-round football contribution is much improved.’

The 28-year-old opened his Chelsea account 15 minutes into our fixture against Arsenal and was heavily involved in Reece James’ second.

‘Arsenal couldn’t handle him,’ Crooks added. ‘Most other teams in the Premier League are going to have the same problem this season against Lukaku.’

Gallagher reveals why he chose Palace

Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher has revealed Patrick Vieira was the reason he chose to go on loan to Crystal Palace.

Speaking in a report that was repeated in The Sun, the midfielder is looking ahead to the season under the former France international.

‘I liked what the manager Patrick Vieira was saying,’ Gallagher said. ‘I feel like it suited me very nicely and like I could express myself the best here.’

The 21-year-old has had a fantastic start to his 2021/22 Premier League. The midfielder was named Man of the Match in the Eagles’ draw against Brentford.

‘He knows the type of player I am,’ Gallagher added. ‘He knows that I want to get up and down the pitch and just to play with freedom.

‘That definitely helped persuade me.’
