Blues eyeing Insigne

Chelsea are reportedly interested in Napoli attacker Lorenzo Insigne.

According to journalist Francesco Modugno, the Blues were willing to negotiate with the Italian side to bring the Euro 2020 winner to Stamford Bridge.

The attacker is in the final year of his contract with Napoli and is reportedly interested in a move away from the club as there is no sign that he’ll get offered a new deal.

The Italian made 48 appearances for Napoli last season and scored 19 goals and picked up 11 assists.

It is claimed the Blues were also interested in doing a swap deal as Napoli were interested in Emerson Palmieri and Tiemoue Bakayoko, however, both players have secured loans to AC Milan and Lyon.

If Chelsea are to sign the attacker they will have to fight off clubs like Zenit St Petersburg and Inter Milan, two sides who are also interested in the player.

Hasselbaink backs Blues for title

Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes the Blues showed the courage at Anfield that could lead us to a Premier League title.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Hasselbaink praised how Thomas Tuchel’s men defended after going down to 10 men when Reece James was sent off.

‘This second game will tell him more than the game against Arsenal,’ the Burton manager said. ‘He will get more from this team than the win against Arsenal where they played well.’

The Blues are still undefeated in the Premier League after three games and head into the international break sitting joint second in the Premier League.

‘If you told him you’re going to Anfield and getting a point he will have taken that,’ Hasselbaink added. ‘That’s what you need to do to be champions.

‘And then with 10 men even more so. The togetherness is massive, they’ve got momentum and are in a good place. They’re right there.’

Vieira praises Gallagher

Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira has praised Chelsea loanee, Conor Gallagher, after his brace against West Ham United.

Speaking on their club website, the former midfielder added that this is what he expects from the 21-year-old.

‘He’s got the ability to remain calm inside the box,’ Vieira said. ‘He’s got a lot of energy and he worked hard for the team.

‘When he’s in that kind of situation he works well for us and will score goals.’

Gallagher is hungry for Premier League action and earlier said his move to the Eagles was because of the former Arsenal man who praised his character.

‘I think it was a well-deserved point because we played well,’ the Palace head coach added.

‘I was pleased with the character that we showed and we have to build from that performance.’
