August saw the return of club football for our men’s and Academy teams, while Chelsea Women continued their pre-season campaign, and now it’s time for you to vote for your favourite goal of the month…

Our Premier League opener against Crystal Palace provides two of the eight nominated goals, with Marcos Alonso’s brilliant free-kick and Trevoh Chalobah’s long-range effort making the shortlist, the latter for sheer emotion as much as technical excellence.

Romelu Lukaku’s first Blues goal away at Arsenal also makes the cut, as does Hakim Ziyech’s close-range conversion against Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup and Kai Havertz’s improbable header at Anfield.

Chelsea Women are represented by Pernille Harder, who netted two in our 4-1 friendly victory up at Rangers. The Dane’s precise header to level the scores is the nominated selection, as opposed to her expertly converted penalty kick.

For our youngsters, Harvey Vale scored the first three goals of the campaign for Andy Myers’s development squad and the 17-year-old is rewarded for his second at Tottenham, a clinical counter-attacking goal finished with aplomb.

Spurs were also on the receiving end of our Under-18s and their attacking firepower last month, with the young Blues scoring seven in a big win away from home. Derrick Abu’s incredible strike from distance makes up the eight-goal shortlist.

A tough decision then and you have just one vote to cast so relive the goals in the video below and then make your selection in the poll.
