5 – John Terry – 36 years 159 days

While John Terry didn’t play in too many games in Chelsea’s 2016/17 Premier League-winning campaign, our Captain, Leader, Legend capped his remarkable career at Stamford Bridge when he opened the scoring in his penultimate game for the club against Watford in May 2017.

Terry struck after 22 minutes, sweeping the ball home after Kurt Zouma had knocked down a Willian corner in the six-yard box in our 4-3 victory. With the last of his 67 goals for the Blues, Terry also extended his record of scoring at least one league goal to 17 consecutive seasons.

4 – Mal Donaghy – 36 years 167 days

Mal Donaghy was nearly 35 when he joined Chelsea from Manchester United in August 1992 but the Northern Ireland defender served the Blues well during the final two years of his career as he appeared in 78 games during our first two Premier League campaigns.

He bagged three goals for the Blues with the last coming in a memorable derby against Tottenham Hotspur at the Bridge in February 1994 when he cut in from the left and fired home at the near post to cut the deficit to 2-1 as we rallied from the early deficit to win 4-3.

3 – Gianfranco Zola – 36 years 290 days

After scoring only three Premier League goals in 2001/02, Gianfranco Zola enjoyed a renaissance in his last campaign at Chelsea the following season as his 14 league strikes helped us finish fourth and secured a place in the Champions League.

The Italian maestro signed off in style with the last of his 80 Chelsea goals in April 2003 as he chased down William Gallas’ long ball near the left touchline and produced a deft lob with the outside of his right boot which looped perfectly over Everton goalkeeper Richard Wright into the far corner of the net to seal a 4-1 victory.

2 – Thiago Silva – 36 years 362 days

Thiago Silva moved up four spots from sixth to second on our list of oldest scorers in the Premier League when he headed home Marcos Alonso’s corner against Tottenham last weekend.

The Brazilian had previously been just outside the top-five behind Zola, Donaghy, Terry and former player-manager Glenn Hoddle after breaking the deadlock in our 3-0 victory over West Ham last December at the age of 36 years and 91 days.

1 – Didier Drogba – 37 years 49 days

If Thiago Silva scores again for the Blues after November, he would break the club record set by Didier Drogba against Leicester City in late April 2015.

In his second spell with the Blues, the Ivorian took his club tally to 164 goals when he turned in Branislav Ivanovic’s cut back to level the score early in the second half as we came from behind to beat the Foxes 3-1 and moved within touching distance of the Premier League title.
