Blues handed home tie in next round of Carabao Cup

Chelsea have been drawn to face Southampton at Stamford Bridge in the fourth round of this season’s Carabao Cup.

We booked our place in the next stage of the competition by beating Aston Villa on penalties at Stamford Bridge tonight, with the draw for the next round being conducted by Harry Redknapp and Micah Richards immediately after today’s fixtures.

The draw was held at Potton Bowls Club in Bedfordshire after one of their members won a competition to pick the venue, with the Blues being handed a home draw against Premier League opposition in the last 16.

All fourth round matches are scheduled to be played on 26 and 27 October, with further details announced here once they are confirmed.

Chelsea are attempting to win the League Cup for the sixth time, with our most recent victory coming in 2015.

The full draw is:

Chelsea vs Southampton
Arsenal vs Leeds United
Stoke City vs Brentford
West Ham vs Manchester City
Leicester City vs Brighton
Burnley vs Tottenham
QPR vs Sunderland
Preston vs Liverpool
