Thomas Tuchel makes four changes from last weekend’s win at Tottenham as we welcome Manchester City to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are boosted by the return of Edouard Mendy in goal, while Reece James returns at wing-back in a move that sees captain Cesar Azpilicueta revert to centre-back and Thiago Silva drop to the bench.

Following his half-time introduction and second-half goal in north London, N’Golo Kante is back in what appears to be a three-man central midfield alongside Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic.

Marcos Alonso continues on the left flank, with Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger retained in the back three. Romelu Lukaku is joined by Timo Werner in attack.

Prior to kick-off, Tuchel explained that a slight knock was the reason behind Thiago Silva's absence, commenting: 'Unfortunately, Thiago had some issues yesterday in training, otherwise he would have started.'

Pep Guardiola also makes four changes from City's Premier League draw with Southampton last weekend as Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Aymeric Laporte all start.
