The form

Earlier this year, Chelsea beat London City Lionesses (5-0) and Everton (3-0) to progress to the quarter-final of this competition. They pick back up on last season’s tournament following two back-to-back wins in the Barclays Women’s Super League with their most recent triumph a 6-1 win last Sunday away to Manchester United.

A double from Sam Kerr with further goals from Fran Kirby, Pernille Harder, Drew Spence and Jessie Fleming helped the Blues to an impressive victory on the road at Leigh Sports Village. Fleming’s goal marked her first for the Blues with Harder taking home Player of the Match.

Birmingham City beat Coventry United and Southampton back in May to progress to the final eight. However, they will be hoping to turn their fortunes around with their first win this season, having lost their opening three WSL matches to Spurs, Brighton and Hove Albion and most recently Everton, last weekend.
