The Blues are back on the continent for the first time since being crowned European champions as we head to Turin on matchday two of the Champions League, and our build-up begins with all the notable match stats and information...

Juventus vs Chelsea head to head

Juve won our most recent meeting, recording a 3-0 home victory in the group stage in November 2012. It was Roberto Di Matteo’s last match in charge of the Blues. The game at Stamford Bridge on matchday one that season ended 2-2.

On the other occasion we were paired in the 2008/09 round of 16, Didier Drogba scored the only goal of the first leg at Stamford Bridge. The Ivorian also scored the crucial second equaliser in the second leg in Turin, a game in which Juventus twice led through Vincenzo Iaquinta (19) and Alessandro Del Piero (74, pen), either side of Michael Essien's equaliser in first-half added time.

Since the start of last season, no team have lost fewer games (one) or kept more clean sheets (10) than Chelsea in the Champions League, with the Blues winning 10 of our 14 games in this period overall.

We have won six and drawn one of our past seven away group games in the competition, since we lost 3-0 in Roma in 2017.

Chelsea are looking to win four consecutive Champions League matches without conceding a goal for the first time.

The Blues have lost our last four away games against Italian opposition in the Champions League, with each defeat coming against a different side – Inter Milan in 2009/10, Napoli in 2011/12, Juventus in 2012/13 and Roma in 2017/18.

Our overall record away to Serie A sides is one win, three draws and six defeats. Our sole win was a 4-0 success at Lazio in the 2003/04 group stage.

Past Chelsea players Alvaro Morata and Juan Cuadrado play for the Turin side.

This game comes exactly 50 years since our record win in a competitive fixture: 13–0 at home to Jeunesse Hautcharage in the Cup Winners' Cup (29 September 1971).

Milestones

If selected, Jorginho will make his 150th appearance for Chelsea in all competitions and Antonio Rudiger will start for the Blues for the 150th occasion in all competitions.
