Chelsea among clubs after German

The Blues are one of a number of clubs keen on Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz, according to Sport Witness.

The report states that Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool all have the player on their radars.

The 18-year-old is highly regarded in German football, having stepped into Kai Havertz’s position at Leverkusen following his move to Stamford Bridge last summer.

'Pep Guardiola has sent scouts to Leverkusen time and time again recently to watch Wirtz,' journalist Christian Falk told BILD, as further reported by Sports Witness.

‘There are, of course, a few others sitting there from Chelsea, United, Arsenal and Liverpool. So many, many Premier League clubs are interested but City very specifically.

‘We do know, though, that he’s not in a hurry to move to the Premier League just yet. The young man Florian Wirtz is still developing at Leverkusen, and there have already been talks with FC Bayern, which of course are only indirect.

‘So that’s the responsibility of his father and his advisor. It does seem that Bayern have a very, very good chance of being the next step.’

Chelsea told how much French asset will cost

Chelsea have reportedly been interested in the services of AS Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni recently and have now apparently been told how much the 21-year-old will cost to acquire.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Monaco will hold out for no less than £34 million for Tchouameni with the midfielder contracted until at least the summer of 2024 at the French side.

Tchouameni, who scored his first league goal of the season against Bordeaux last weekend, has started the season in impressive form and his performances have reportedly alerted clubs across Europe.

'Juventus, Liverpool and Chelsea have all taken a keen interest in the midfielder, according to Calciomercato, and they have been informed of his transfer value,' states the report.

'Monaco have informed the clubs that Tchouameni will cost around £34million, making him an relatively affordable prospect for Europe's elite teams.'

Blues take another positive eco-friendly step

'Ten Men Went To Mow' is a popular song amongst the Stamford Bridge faithful, and it is being reported by The Sun that the club’s groundsmen are now using new eco-friendly lawnmowers.

The Blues are said to have exchanged their original lawnmowers for silent electronic ones for use at both the Bridge and Cobham.

‘After games in English football, mowers are used not to cut the grass — but to remove debris from the pitch,’ the report in The Sun says.

‘The noise has made it particularly difficult for TV presenters to conduct pitch side interviews and for written journalists to speak to managers via Zoom during post-match press conferences.’
