Pernille Harder has urged her Blues teammates to take the positives from our midweek draw with Wolfsburg into today’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League clash with Leicester City.

The Blues dominated large periods of Wednesday’s Champions League 3-3 draw against Wolfsburg, but attention now turns to league action as Chelsea welcome WSL newcomers Leicester City to Kingsmeadow.

Harder is hoping Chelsea can build on the good aspects from Wednesday’s draw and secure three points against the Foxes this afternoon.

She said: ‘It’s something we are getting used to, going from a Champions League game into a league game. It’s the same mindset. We go into the games to win.

‘They [Leicester City] will make it difficult for us to create chances and score goals. They will defend and they don’t have anything to lose so they will go into the game with that mindset.

‘For us, we have to keep doing what we are doing and keep building from our game against Wolfsburg, especially from the first 30 minutes where we played some really good football.’

Harder expects today’s opponents to not give the Blues any room to create chances and the Blues midfielder has highlighted the importance of being patient.

She added: ‘We have to have a lot of movement, wanting the ball all the time. We have to keep the ball moving and find the right moments to go and attack.

‘It’s always nice to get an early goal but if it doesn’t happen, it’s important to always be patient.

‘The longer the game goes on, the opponent will get tired and there will be even more openings to create chances and score goals.’

After her stoppage-time leveller against her former club Wolfsburg, Harder has now scored four goals in six appearances this season and the Denmark captain puts her recent impressive performances down to a full pre-season with the Blues.

‘I had a good pre-season and I had time to settle into the country, the team and the league.

‘It’s important to have a good pre-season, I’ve been working hard to be fit and ready.’

Today’s clash kicks-off at 12.30pm and will be shown live on Sky Sports. Tickets are available on matchday from the Kingsmeadow ticket office from 10.30am. All tickets are subject to availability.
