Following a flawless October in which Chelsea won every game and conceded just one goal, Thomas Tuchel has been nominated for the Premier League’s Manager of the Month award.

It follows previous inclusions on the shortlist for our German boss in February, March and August, with Tuchel winning the award earlier in the year during his first few weeks in charge.

Following defeat in our final game of September at home to Manchester City, the Blues have recorded four consecutive victories to take us three points clear at the top of the table.

We have also discovered a knack of racking up big wins, with 14 goals scored in four league games during the month and just one conceded.

A big factor in that has been the defenders chipping in with half of the scoring tally and Tuchel’s clever use of the wing-backs, deployed high and often infield, has clearly paid dividends.

As has his rotation of options throughout the team, particularly with Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku missing half our Premier League matches in October through injury.

Kai Havertz has deputised capably up top, winning a penalty at Newcastle, while the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech have come into the team and performed well. Maximum points has taken us above Liverpool and Manchester City to lead the Premier League table after 10 matches played.

Up against Tuchel this month are Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, David Moyes of West Ham and Crystal Palace’s new incumbent Patrick Vieira. Voting is open now until 12 noon on Monday 8 November. The winner will be announced later that week.
