The form

Last up for Chelsea was a showstopping thriller against Juventus when we were able to win 2-1 with goals from Erin Cuthbert and Pernille Harder.

The Blues started strongly and just after the 30-minute mark, our No.22 controlled a cross-field pass and was able to slot home a left-footed finish in Juventus’ bottom corner of the goal. Juventus turned up the gas and drew level just five minutes later with Barbara Bonansea meeting a cross on the volley.

The second half did not disappoint and both sides enjoyed sustained spells of pressure. Hayes’ side gained the edge with Harder’s third shot finding the back of the net.

Since bringing the victory home, the Blues have continued our winning streak in the Women’s Super League, most recently with a 1-0 against Aston Villa at the weekend taking the tally to five. Chelsea have also enjoyed success in other tournaments, beating Manchester City 3-0 to secure a place in the final at Wembley.

This is the first time Servette have reached the final 16 of the Champions League. The Swiss top-flight team have had a mixed bag of results this season, with two wins, two losses and one draw across all tournaments. They have also experienced two losses in their opening rounds in the Champions League this season against Wolfsburg and Juventus. Servette sit fourth in the Suisse national league.

Servette v Chelsea head-to-head record

Tomorrow’s encounter will be the Blues first competitive match against Servette.

Next up for the Blues

Up next after Servette, Chelsea will face Manchester City once more but this time back in the WSL. The match will be on Sunday with a 3pm kick-off.
