Following a Shareholders' Meeting, the Premier League have today announced some key dates for the 2022/23 season...

Next season's domestic campaign is set to be affected by the FIFA World Cup, which takes place in Qatar in November and December 2022. The Premier League calendar has therefore been adjusted to accomodate the tournament taking place in the middle of the traditional season.

The 2022/23 Premier League season will begin on 6 August 2022 and will consist of 34 rounds of weekend match action, three midweeks and one Bank Holiday match round. The season will also retain a standalone weekend for the FA Cup final.

Premier League action will pause after the weekend of 12-13 November, the 16th round of matches, ahead of the call-up period for the World Cup beginning on Monday 14 November. The tournament begins a week later on 21 November and runs for a month, with the final set to take place on Sunday 18 December.

The Premier League will then resume on Boxing Day and run until the end of May, with the final match round taking place on the 28th of that month.
