Mateo Kovacic and Kai Havertz were the two Chelsea absentees from our final training session before Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Juventus.

The Blues need a point to guarantee themselves a place in the last-16, while a two-goal victory will take us top with just one game away at Zenit St Petersburg left to play.

Kovacic remains sidelined after missing the last four Blues matches with a hamstring injury, the same muscle causing Havertz problems following our weekend win at Leicester City.

Tuchel reported at his pre-match press conference that his compatriot ‘felt a bit of tension in the hamstrings so we took him off and we have some doubts with him.’

Havertz subsequently didn’t appear for the afternoon session under floodlights at Cobham, the first 15 minutes of which were streamed live on chelseafc.com and the 5th Stand app.

In better news, Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner were involved in team training, as was Jorginho, who came off early at Leicester after suffering with cramp.
