Pat Nevin book signing this Sunday before Man Utd game

This Sunday, Chelsea legend Pat Nevin will be back at the stadium where he made his name in English football, signing copies of the book that tells that story and much, much more.

‘The Accidental Footballer’, an atypical autobiography about an atypical football career, charts the early stages of Pat’s life and how his talent and hard work in learning the game eventually took him down the path to becoming a professional, against his initial wishes for how he wanted to spend his life.

He was eventually persuaded to move from Scotland to Stamford Bridge, and almost headed straight back, but very quickly became a big success at Chelsea while maintaining his keen interest in music and other aspects of cultural life in London.

How Pat did not fit in but thrived is explained in the pages of the book he will be signing between 12 noon and 1pm on Sunday, in the Megastore at Stamford Bridge, ahead of the 4.30pm kick-off against Manchester United.
