The form
We return to action after the international break looking to carry on the form that has seen us unbeaten in 13 matches in all competitions.
Our only loss this term came in our first match of the season when we lost 3-2 to Arsenal in the WSL.
The 13-game unbeaten run has seen us score 47 goals and concede just nine.
The last goal we let in came on 13 October in the 2-1 win over Juventus in the Champions League. Since then 22 goals have been scored in six victories.
League leaders Arsenal drew 1-1 with north London rivals Tottenham in their last WSL fixture, but are one point above us in the table having won all their other seven league matches.
Chelsea Women v Arsenal Women head-to-head record
The away league defeat in September was our last meeting with the Gunners, where goals from Erin Cuthbert and Pernille Harder were not enough to save us from a 3-2 loss.
Chelsea were unbeaten in three meetings with the Gunners last season. We won the home WSL fixture 3-0 and drew the return match 1-1. The other fixture came in the Continental Cup when we eased to a 4-1 victory.
This is the third time Chelsea and Arsenal have met in the Women’s FA Cup final, with both teams having one victory so far. Arsenal were 1-0 winners in 2016 and Chelsea emerged victorious by a 3-1 scoreline in 2018.
Arsenal have the competition record for both final appearances and victories, having won 14 of the 17 finals they have reached so far
Chelsea will be playing in there fifth final, with a record of two wins and two losses from the first four appearances.
The sides also played each other in the 2020 Continental Cup final at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground home, with the Blues securing a 2-1 victory courtesy of two goals from Beth England.
If Emma Hayes guides Chelsea to success she will be the first female manager to win the Women’s FA Cup three times.
Next up for the Blues
We are next in action on Wednesday 8 December when we face Juventus at Kingsmeadow in the Women’s Champions League. Our fifth Group A fixture of the season gets under way at 8pm.
