Our Under-19s have been drawn against Belgian side Genk in the play-off segment of this year’s competition.

Andy Myers’s team will travel to play their counterparts from Genk in February, with full fixture details to be announced shortly.

Genk, for the second straight year, will seek to enter the competition through the Domestic Champions route. The last time Genk were in the competition through the UEFA Champions League path, they finished third in their group, failing to qualify for the knockout stages.

Chelsea finished second in Group H, which mirrored the senior team's draw in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Defeats at home and away to Juventus proved costly, as well as a draw against Zenit in St Petersburg, meaning we finished six points behind the Italians, who progress directly to the last-16.

The play-off round consists of a one-legged tie, played at home for those advancing from the Domestic Champions pathway.

It will be the first time our youngsters have faced Belgian opposition in the competition since the 2016 semi-final against Anderlecht, which we won 3-0 with Tammy Abraham among the goals.
