World Cup winner 'tempted' by Blues move

Paris Saint-Germain centre-half Presnel Kimpembe is reportedly deliberating whether to reunite with Thomas Tuchel and Thiago Silva at Chelsea.

The Frenchman has been at PSG since 2005 but it is now being reported he could tempted by a move away, with the Blues ‘tempting’ him.

In a report by the Metro, the 26-year-old is apparently a big fan of our head coach after the pair worked together in the French capital, reaching the Champions League final.

‘Presnel Kimpembe is questioning his future at Paris Saint-Germain and could be 'tempted' by a move to Chelsea to reunite with Thomas Tuchel,’ the report states.

‘The German coach was desperate to sign a new centre-back last summer but Chelsea failed in a move for Sevilla ace Jules Kounde.

‘That has forced the club to look elsewhere and L’Equipe claim Chelsea also failed in a move for PSG ace Marquinhos last summer,’ the report adds.

‘But this time around it’s a move for Kimpembe that could be on the cards as the France international is uncertain about his future at the club.

‘It’s claimed the Frenchman has always felt a move to the Premier League would be an advisable next step in his career and that the lure of working with Tuchel again is a ‘tempting’ one.

‘Tuchel guided Chelsea to Champions League success last term, something which Kimpembe is yet to taste in France.’

Cudicini offers assessment of two Blues stars

Former Blues goalkeeper and current loan coach Carlo Cudicini has named his Chelsea Player of the Season so far.

Cudicini spent nine of his playing years at the club, featuring 141 times for the Blues in the Premeir League and 216 times in all competitions.

He began his current role at the club in August 2019 and as such has watched one man, Trevoh Chalobah, very closely and he now believes he has been our standout performer this term.

‘I have to say because he was part of our development phase, Trevor Chalobah has been my standout player of the season so far for Chelsea,’ Cudicini said to Ladbrokes, cited by the Express.

‘He's done extremely well and I'm so happy to see him performing so well for the first team.

‘He was a late addition in the pre-season squad this summer and I've been working closely with him over the past two years so I'm extremely proud to see him doing so well.'

The 48-year-old also praised Mason Mount’s fine form. ‘Mason Mount is also doing extremely well,’ the Italian said. ‘He was in and out of the team early on in the season but he's a pivotal part of things right now.’

New laws for unvaccinated footballers not out of the question

A report in The Mirror is claiming that unvaccinated footballers could have to travel to matches separately to their team-mates.

This would be in a bid to reduce the Covid-19 outbreaks that are occurring throughout English football, which saw six Premier League games postponed last weekend.

‘Unvaccinated players could be forced to travel to games separately from their team mates,’ the Mirror report states.

‘That is one of the measures under consideration from the Premier League who are putting together a range of enhanced safety measures to try and reduce Covid outbreaks.

‘Clubs with high vaccination rates want to put pressure on teams with players refusing to get jabbed because of fears that the virus is easily spread on trips to away games on coaches, planes and trains.

‘Prem bosses have already introduced a further range of emergency measures but are looking at new ways of reducing the risk through interaction, sharing indoor space and also travel including driving together to training.

‘That could mean a new crackdown on selfie pictures with fans, goal celebrations and also reducing gatherings among players amid concerns that team meetings in enclosed spaces and meals on away trips could be a high risk.’
