Dutch midfielder on Chelsea’s radar

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is a reported target for Chelsea according to reports from Spain.

Outlet El Nacional are reporting that the Dutch international is subject to a bid from the Blues, but competition is fierce for the Ajax youth product.

The report states that de Jong’s father recently confirmed there has been numerous clubs enquiring about his situation. ‘The five best clubs in Europe have asked for him,’ said Frenkie de Jong's father a few weeks ago, as quoted by El Nacional.

‘The De Jong family are aware that something is wrong at the club [Barcelona]. And one of the clubs interested in the Dutch midfielder is Chelsea, who are looking for a player who brings quality to their midfield.

‘The first offer presented is 40 million euros, still far from what Barca is asking for, which starts at a price of 60 million euros,’ the report continues.

‘However, if Nico and Gavi continue to perform as before and, above all, if de Jong continues without raising his head, Barca will accept 50 million euros, so his move to Chelsea would be only 10 million. A short difference that makes the operation viable,’ the story concludes.

PSG’s Kurzawa reportedly a target

Chelsea’s left-back conundrum has reportedly led the Blues to Thomas Tuchel’s former side for the signature of Layvin Kurzawa.

Reports by Sky Sports explain that the defender is one of a number of options the Blues are considering as they look to fill the void left by Ben Chilwell’s serious knee injury.

‘Chelsea are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa on loan, with the 29-year-old currently out of favour at the French club,’ the report states.‘Thomas Tucehl's side are looking to sign a left-back this month, with Ben Chilwell set to miss the rest of the season with a knee ligament injury while Lyon have reportedly rejected Chelsea's offer to recall Emerson Palmieri from his loan in France.

‘Chelsea have now turned their attentions to Kurzawa, who has made only one appearance for PSG this season.

‘Kurzawa has been at PSG for six-and-a-half years and played under Tuchel during his reign at the Ligue 1 club.’
