Today marks a year since Thomas Tuchel was appointed Chelsea head coach, and here we look at the key statistics that showcase just what a fantastic 12 months it’s been.

Tuchel arrived on 26 January 2021 with the Blues in ninth place in the Premier League, five points outside the top four. We were also considered underdogs for our Champions League last-16 tie against Atletico Madrid, but Tuchel quickly and impressively instilled a defensive resilience upon which the foundation of our success since then - including two European triumphs - has been built.

He has written his name into Chelsea folklore, not least by becoming the very first manager in our history to guide us to the final of each of the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup. Here we detail his record as our boss, and also underline some of the main contributors during his year in charge…

Tuchel has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month twice (March 2021 and October 2021).

Since Tuchel’s arrival, we have conceded an average of 0.72 goals per league game (31 in 43 games), fewer than any other Premier League side.

We have kept 21 clean sheets in our 43 league games, no side has achieved more.

No Premier League side have lost fewer matches than us in the competition since this time last year.

Tuchel has selected 36 different players, 14 of them from the Academy.

There have been 22 different scorers under Tuchel, excluding own goals.

We have kept a clean sheet in 53.7 per cent of our matches (36/67).

Happy anniversary, Thomas!
