The form

The Blues go into the fixture off the back of a 2-0 win against West Ham United at Kingsmeadow on Wednesday evening. Goals from Bethany England and Erin Cuthbert secured the Blues’ first three home points of 2022.

Hayes’ side are now unbeaten in three games, having tasted victory against West Ham twice already in the New Year and drawing away to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.

The Villans also go into the fixture with a win under their belt, having beaten Leicester City in dramatic fashion last weekend. Alisha Lehmann scored in the third minute of stoppage time as Carla Ward’s side secured their first league win of 2022.

Aston Villa Women vs Chelsea Women head-to-head record

This will be our second meeting with Aston Villa this term, having already played Ward’s side away in the league.

Our last outing against the Villans came in November. Jessie Fleming’s first-half strike secured all three points on the road for Blues.

Next up for the Blues

It’s yet another quick turn around as we will host Manchester United at Kingsmeadow on Wednesday evening in the semi-final of the Continental Tyres League Cup, kicking off at 7pm (UK time).
