Blues monitoring Ajax's Antony

Media speculation suggests that Chelsea are one of a number of Premier League clubs interested in signing Ajax winger Antony.

The Brazilian has 39 goal involvements in 71 Ajax appearances and a report by 90min suggests a move to the Premier League is on the horizon.

‘Ajax winger Antony has emerged as a transfer target for a host of leading Premier League clubs, 90min understands, with the player keen on a move to England,’ the report states.

‘The beguiling Brazilian has emerged as key player for his club over the past 18 months and has featured regularly at international level since his first call-up in October last year.

‘Antony joined Ajax from Sao Paulo in 2020 in a deal worth around £18m and has gone on to have a significant impact for the Dutch giants,’ the report adds.

‘90min has been told that Chelsea are keen on the player too, while Manchester United's interest is set to intensify due to the question marks over Mason Greenwood’s future following his recent arrest.

‘Clubs throughout Italy and Spain are also keen, but it is believed that player’s representatives have indicated Antony’s desire is to play in the Premier League.’

Leeds and Raphinha in contract stand-off

The Blues have reportedly been handed a boost in any rumoured quest to sign Raphinha from Leeds United.

A report by the Express suggests the Brazilian is reluctant to sign a new deal with the Yorkshire club amid interest from Chelsea and Liverpool.

‘Liverpool and Chelsea have been handed a boost in their transfer chase for Raphinha after the winger reportedly snubbed contract talks with Leeds United,’ the report states.

‘The Brazilian has starred for the Whites since arriving at Elland Road from Rennes ahead of last season.

‘With Raphinha continuing to excel under Bielsa, it has inevitably led to attention from clubs challenging at the top of the division,’ the report continues.

‘Liverpool and Chelsea have both made their interest in the winger clear as time ticks down on his contract.

‘According to Goal, the winger has been ‘holding off’ on negotiations as he waits for offers from Europe’s top teams.’

Blow for Liverpool ahead of cup final

Liverpool’s Diogo Jota is facing a run against time to be fit for next weekend’s Carabao Cup final with Chelsea.

The Portuguese frontman picked up an injury in the Reds’ 2-0 win at Inter Milan in midweek, and the Daily Mail report he may not return for the cup final clash.

‘Diogo Jota is facing a race to be fit for the Carabao Cup final after damaging his ankle in Liverpool's latest Champions League success,’ states the report.

Jota was replaced at half-time against Inter Milan by Roberto Firmino.

‘Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said afterwards the Portugal international had taken "a proper knock" and the joint was swollen.

‘It is doubtful that he would be ready for next Wednesday's rearranged game against Leeds, either, but Liverpool will not rule him out of the big clash at Wembley against Chelsea as Jota has shown himself to be a quick healer.’
