Match-winner Hakim Ziyech discusses his latest successful outing and the difficulties that were overcome...

The Moroccan’s late strike at Selhurst Park was his seventh goal in all competitions this season, and his fourth in the Premier League.

After scoring for the third successive league match, Ziyech admitted he is loving his football right now.

‘Yeah. The last couple of months I am in good shape, and I am enjoying playing football. I am trying to do my best and that is the most important,’ Ziyech said before turning his attention to the Palace game specifically.

The Moroccan needed two bites at the cherry to win the Blues this all-London affair, after his first goal was disallowed as Romelu Lukaku was adjudged to have been offside in the build-up.

Despite not performing at our absolute best, Ziyech believes getting points on the board is the most important thing.

‘At this time, with a busy schedule, it is the most important to win games. It doesn’t really matter how,’ he said post-match. ‘Of course, you want to play good football but it doesn’t always go that way.

‘It was a difficult game, instead of a good game. There was not a lot of chances, we only had a small couple of chances. Of course, there was the goal that wasn’t allowed, but it was the best feeling to score in the last minute.’

The forward also thanked Marcos Alonso for his fantastic assist. The Spaniard whipped the ball in from the left-hand side for Ziyech to volley into the back of the net.

‘I think it was a brilliant ball to the far post. You always know if no one touches it, the ball could come down. All I had to do was be there, and shoot.’

The conditions in south London were far from ideal, especially considering Chelsea’s last match was in Abu Dhabi last weekend, with very contrasting  temperatures.

‘It is difficult. It is not a reason to complain about, as players it is difficult to adapt every time to something new,’ the Moroccan admitted. ‘That is what we have to do as players, take it as professionally as we can. That is what we are trying to do, at the end of the day it is all about results.'
