Our development squad can finally return to action after a few postponements as we welcome West Ham to Kingsmeadow with the game scheduled for a 7pm kick-off today.

Please note, there will be no ticket sales at the ground. Tickets already purchased will be valid.

It has been a tough period for our young Blues in the PL2 this year as we are currently on a three-game losing streak and have only won once from our last six games. The poor form is not indicative of the performances and there have been good showings despite the results not corresponding.

One of the bright spots despite the form has been Jayden Wareham who has added goals to the endeavour and hard work he shows in matches. He spoke to us on how the team are preparing for the upcoming game and how to avoid relegation.

'The gaffer Andy Myers and the coaching team are really supporting us in what we are doing. He sees that the performances have been there but at times things have not fallen our way. We know we can do better however.'

'This is the hardest point of our season and as long as we apply his words as he has been telling us to stick together and battle hard together, we should be fine.'

Wareham added that a strong bond within the team has been built and there is a great togetherness about everyone in the squad. He mentions that captain Xavier Simons as captain is leading by example to help us.

'He [Simons] is a very vocal player and an important player to us. He shows great quality on the pitch and off it so he will be an important player for us as we try to come out of this rut.'

After not being offered a contact at 16 by QPR, Wareham is no stranger to a comeback story, and he said he will use his experience of being knocked down to try to help the team.

'I was released from QPR after being with them for about four years. After not being offered a scholarship, I had exit trials which ultimately led me to signing for Woking.

'Through hard work and perseverance, I have found myself at Chelsea so performing and developing is the most important thing.'

With 13 appearances and four goals in the PL2, Wareham has begun to find the net with more regularity and the aim will be to add to that tally and hope they lead to wins.

The Hammers themselves despite sitting in third have not been in great form with defeats in their last three PL2 games.
