Hazard to Arsenal?

Chelsea’s London rivals Arsenal have reportedly made initial contact with Eden Hazard over a move this summer.

The Daily Mail report Mikel Arteta is keen on bringing the Belgian to the Emirates, to transform his side into ‘title contenders’.

‘Arsenal have reportedly contacted Real Madrid over a potential stunning move for Real Madrid star Eden Hazard,' it states in the Daily Mail report.

‘Hazard has endured a difficult three-year spell at the club which has been plagued with injuries and has seen a drop in his first-team chances this season.

‘The La Liga leaders are said to be willing to let the Chelsea legend leave during the summer transfer window,’ the report adds.

‘French publication Foot Mercato have now reported that Arsenal have 'initiated the first contact' in talks between both camps.

‘Mikel Arteta is reportedly keen to add Hazard's experience to bolster his options across their front line to help turn the Gunners into title contenders.’

Blues monitoring Raphinha

Chelsea have reportedly joined a number of clubs in tracking the situation of Leeds United winger Raphinha ahead of a summer transfer.

The Blues are competing with Barcelona and Liverpool, according to football journalist Fabrizio Romano.

He has stated that Chelsea did originally show interest in the Brazilian forward, but have now opted to be on ‘stand-by’ for his signature.

‘Barcelona are interested in Raphinha alongside Premier League clubs, including Liverpool [Chelsea wanted him, now on stand-by], Romano tweeted.

‘Barca already discussed about Raphinha with Deco. No talks yet with Leeds - as price depends on their PL [Premier League] future and potential buy-out clauses.’

Analysis of ‘outstanding’ team goal

Football pundit Stephen Warnock has praised the ‘moment of quality’ which won Chelsea’s last match against Newcastle United.

Havertz continued his hot streak in front of goal on Sunday, scoring yet another match-winner in a tight and cagey affair at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Warnock gave his analysis of the superb team goal.

‘It’s outstanding from Jorginho and Kai Havertz [for Chelsea’s goal],’ Warnock told BBC Radio 5 Live.

‘The first touch with his left foot is absolutely out of this world. He stops it dead and then flicks it with the outside of his foot, past the helpless Martin Dubravka.

‘A moment of quality that has been missing from the game. We have just seen the best moment from Kai Havertz.’
