Two Chelsea goals have been shortlisted among the best eight scored in the Premier League during the month of March.

Reece James gets a nod after netting on his first start for over two months in our 4-0 win at Burnley. The defender broke the deadlock after weaving into a shooting position down the right and planting a perfect strike into the bottom corner to set us on the path to victory.

It was his first league goal since a brace away at Newcastle United at Halloween and helped to settle nerves early in the second half at Turf Moor.

Havertz is also nominated for one of his five league goals in March, a tally that has seen him also in the running for March’s Player of the Month award alongside team-mate Trevoh Chalobah. The German’s stunning late winner against Newcastle United was selected as the pick of his haul this month.

After taking a pass form Jorginho with a silky first touch to stun the ball under his spell, the striker finished emphatically with his second and almost took the roof off a jubilant Stamford Bridge in the process.

The speed with which he converted the opportunity, almost all in one swift movement with his left foot, belied conventional play in the six-yard box. It was a goal that also proved significant in upgrading one point to three against a stubborn opponent on home turf.

The Chelsea duo are up against Cucho Hernandez (Watford), Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal), Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle), Ruben Neves (Wolves), Cristiano Ronaldo (Man United) and Timothy Castagne (Leicester).

Voting is open now until 12 noon on Monday 28 March, with the winner announced later that week. Our most recent winner of the goal award came just two months ago when Mateo Kovacic’s brilliant effort against Liverpool won the vote.
