After guiding his side to maximum points in March, Thomas Tuchel has once again been shortlisted for the Premier League’s monthly managerial award.

The Blues have won all three of our league encounters this month and conceded just once in the process, while also progressing into the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the Champions League and FA Cup respectively.

Two of those Premier League victories came away from home against sides battling for survival, with a 4-0 triumph at Burnley the highlight.

Following a tepid first half in which we had just one effort on target, Tuchel’s tweaks and instructions at the break clearly paid dividends as his players returned to the Turf Moor field with plenty more invention and attacking thrust, scoring three times within 10 minutes of the restart.

There was also a 3-1 win on the road at Norwich City before we ended Newcastle United’s resurgent form and nine-game unbeaten run with a narrow victory at Stamford Bridge courtesy of a late Kai Havertz winner.

Attacking substitutions and clever in-game management from the dugout was credited with turning one point into three in that one, with Christian Pulisic finishing the game at wing-back and Romelu Lukaku introduced swiftly on the hour mark.

Tuchel, a two-time winner of the Manager of the Month award in March and October last year, has also been praised for his handling of events away from the football field during a challenging time for the club.

He is up against Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Tottenham boss Antonio Conte, Brendan Rodgers of Leicester City and Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, with the latter the only contender with a similar 100 per cent winning record in March. Voting is open now until 12 noon on Monday 28 March, with the winner announced later that week.
