The form
The Blues go into Sunday’s game sitting second in the WSL, though with a win against the Foxes we could leapfrog Arsenal and top the table for the first time this season.
Our midweek fixture against Tottenham Hotspur was postponed due to positive Covid-19 cases in the Spurs team set up. Our last outing in the league came against Everton as we cruised to a 3-0 away win.
We have won our last four competitive games as we head into Sunday’s fixture and remain unbeaten in the WSL in 2022.
Leicester, meanwhile, head into the fixture having lost their last three competitive games. Most recently the Foxes fell to defeat in an exciting encounter with Everton, who edged out Lydia Bedford’s side 3-2 at Walton Hall Park.
Leicester City Women vs Chelsea Women recent head-to-head record
Sunday’s game will be our third clash with the Foxes this season. In February Hayes’ side cruised to a 7-0 win against Leicester in the fifth round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup.
A double from both Pernille Harder and Sam Kerr and goals from Ji So-Yun, Aniek Nouwen and Bethany England wrapped up a comfortable win for the Blues on home soil.
We won the reverse league fixture at Kingsmeadow 2-0 earlier this season, Harder and Fran Kirby were on the scoresheet as we secured all three points.
Next up for the Blues
We continue our run in the league next Sunday as we host Reading at Kingsmeadow. Our game against the Royals kicks off at 6:45pm and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
