Yesterday, the Foundation hosted its latest community day at Cobham training ground for a number of extra special guests.

A host of Blues supporters were excited to watch their heroes in action at an exclusive open training session, providing a day to remember!

First up, our fans were treated to a Q&A session with former Chelsea goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini, finding out about his former years playing for the club through to his current role assisting with loan players.

Our guests then took a front row seat to watch the players and coaching team take to the pitch for their latest training session.

Following the session, Blues boss Thomas Tuchel and his squad spent time chatting and taking photographs with the visitors.

Super Chelsea fan Vicky, who had just turned 29, was in for a big surprise that morning when Dad, John, let her know she wouldn’t be going to work and instead would be meeting all the Chelsea squad, including her ultimate number one, Thomas Tuchel! Vicky, pictured top, commented: ‘It was an amazing surprise. Tommy Thomas! He is my favourite and he really is a lovely man!’ She went on to share how she enjoys singing all the Chelsea songs and there’s no surprises which she likes most: ‘We love super Tommy Tuchel!’

Big sports fan Tia, aged nine, also enjoyed every minute of the experience, commenting: ‘I loved meeting everybody and watching them train. I was looking at one pitch and then I was looking at the other and I didn’t know which one they were going to train on, and then they came over to this ginormous one that’s bigger than a stadium one! I’ve enjoyed myself so much.’

Thomas Tuchel was a firm favourite for Tia too, as well as Christian Pulisic. Both answered a number of her questions on the day including tips how to keep everyone positive and motivated ahead of every game and if Pulisic prefers to play for club or country!

The afternoon was also a big hit for Zac, aged nine. He said: ‘Out of a five-star rating, I’d give it a five!’ He most enjoyed meeting the players and getting to know what they like to get up to when they aren’t playing and was especially pleased to hear his favourite player, Mason Mount, enjoyed gaming too!

Amir, aged 13, also enjoyed soaking up the experience, proudly sporting his Chelsea shirt and scarf on the day. Amir commented after the session: ‘The experience was really nice, especially meeting the players.’ When asked which player he enjoyed meeting most, he excitedly exclaimed; ‘Romelu Lukaku!’

The regular community days see the Chelsea Foundation linking up with a range of charities to arrange visits for supporters and their carers, giving them a well-deserved boost in what is obviously a difficult time for them and their families.
