A squad of 22 Chelsea players have landed in Spain ahead of our first game at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid tomorrow night.

Thomas Tuchel and his players touched down this afternoon and were met by blue skies in the Spanish capital. In a change to previous European away trips this season, the Blues will train this evening in the host nation. The venue is the Alfredo Di Stefano training ground, where we met Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final a year ago.

Tomorrow we are aiming to overturn a two-goal deficit following our 3-1 loss to Carlo Ancelotti’s side at Stamford Bridge last week. Only once before in Champions League history have a team achieved such a feat having lost the first leg at home by two goals or more, Manchester United the team to do so against PSG in 2019.

As Tuchel confirmed in his press conference this morning, Cesar Azpilicueta is available again after his positive Covid test. Romelu Lukaku, Ross Barkley and Callum Hudson-Odoi have not travelled.
