Chelsea win Performance of the Week award

The League Managers Association has declared our 6-0 Premier League win over Southampton at St Mary’s last weekend to be the Performance of the Week.

Bouncing back from consecutive home defeats, the Blues were clinical on the south coast when inflicting our biggest ever win over the Saints and equalling our record away win in the top flight.

Timo Werner’s double made it five goals and an assist in just four appearances against Southampton, with Mason Mount with two plus Kai Havertz and Marcos Alonso also adding to their season tallies.

The League Managers Association panel that decided the Performance of the Week winner is comprised of their chair, Howard Wilkinson, plus Sir Alex Ferguson, Chris Hughton, Dave Bassett, Barry Fry, Joe Royle and Rachel Yankey. The experienced and highly distinguished panel has managed a combined total of over 6,500 competitive matches in professional football.
