It's a quick return to the north-west this weekend as the Blues head to Goodison Park for a meeting with familiar faces and here we preview our penultimate Premier League away game of 2021/22 with all the relevant facts and stats...

Everton vs Chelsea head to head

Chelsea have lost our last three Premier League games at Goodison Park. The last time we lost four in a row there was between 1970 and 1973 when Dave Sexton was in charge.

Chelsea have scored 293 goals against the Toffees in all competitions, 23 more than we’ve managed against any other side.

In the reverse fixture at the Bridge, Mason Mount broke the deadlock in the 70th minute and Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite completed the scoring four minutes later.

Chelsea stats

Thomas Tuchel’s side are unbeaten in our nine Premier League games played on a Sunday this season (six wins, three draws), with our last defeat coming on the final day last season at Aston Villa.

Going into the weekend's fixtures, with our superior goal difference, six points from our remaining six games should be enough to secure a top-four league finish.

Chelsea have the second-best away record in the Premier League this season (behind Man City) with 37 points (11 wins) from 17 games. Our two defeats came at West Ham and Man City.

Chelsea have the highest win rate in games played on the first day of a month in Premier League history, winning 30 of our 50 such games (60 per cent). We have won all four of our matches in the competition that have kicked off on 1 May.

On the last 14 occasions a manager who has previously taken charge of Chelsea has managed against us in the Premier League, only Carlo Ancelotti has won. It was in this corresponding fixture for Everton in December 2020, against Frank Lampard’s Chelsea.

Marcos Alonso has completed the most interceptions in the Premier League for the Blues in 2021/22 (40).

With the draw at Old Trafford on Wednesday, the Blues have now dropped 18 points this season from leading positions.

Milestones

If selected, Ruben Loftus-Cheek's next start will be his 50th for Chelsea.

Frank Lampard’s side have won seven points from their last three home games, with two 1-0 wins against Newcastle United and Manchester United and, most recently, a 1-1 draw with Leicester City. The winner against the Magpies and the equaliser against the Foxes were both scored in second-half stoppage time.

In the 25 Premier League games Everton have been trailing, they have come back to win 12 points this season.

Of Everton’s 29 points in the Premier League this season, 23 of them (79 per cent) have been won at Goodison Park.
