Eriksson addressed the media in a press conference at Cobham on Friday afternoon as she previewed the FA Cup final clash, with the Blues eyeing up back-to-back FA Cup titles.

Speaking to the press, Eriksson said: ‘It’s been a really good, long week to build up to a big game. It’s one last push now, our final big game of the season and we definitely want to end it on a high.’

Our No.16 won the FA Cup final with Chelsea back in 2018 and reflected on that memorable occasion at Wembley.

‘Back in 2018 it was my first real big game for Chelsea, that’s the game I will always remember – it’s one of the coolest I’ve ever experienced.

‘I can’t remember exactly how many it was in the stands but it was a lot of people. Back then, I wasn’t used to playing in front of that many people and we’re expecting an even bigger crowd.’

More than 55,000 tickets have been sold for today’s FA Cup final, a new record for the competition in England and Eriksson praised the support of the fans ahead of today’s game.

‘The fans are amazing and the history of the cup as well is a great history so there’s so many things that makes you want to win it,' she continued.

‘That’s where we want to be at, that’s the standard where we want to get to now in these big games and I think it’s cool that when we get the opportunity to play in the big stadiums we tend to fill it or we tend to get big crowds.

‘We’re proving the interest is there and it’s consistently been there since the fans have been back in the stadium.’

On the challenges she expects Manchester City to pose, Eriksson added: ‘They’re back now, they’re back to their old self - that’s pretty clear. Their record lately has proven that.

‘They look incredibly strong and they were strong against us as well in the Conti Cup final. We want to get revenge after that game, we know we can do better than that. We have massive respect for Man City, they’re a tough team to play against and it’s going to be a great final.’

When asked on the mood in the camp, Eriksson explained how the team felt excited and want to end the season on a high.

‘We love these kind of games,' she added. 'These are the games we live for and we train for every week. It’s that one last push as well, that gives you an extra edge. We’re going to give it everything we’ve got and hopefully we will lift the trophy in the end.

‘It means everything for us. That’s the only thing we are talking about, the only thing that we are fighting for now is get the domestic double once again. We want to be the best team in England, we want to prove we can do that and do it consistently.

‘Winning the league title three years in a row is a massive statement, it’s never been that hard than these last three years to win. The fact that we’re still at the top at the end of each season is so unbelievably strong but now winning the FA Cup would just be the perfect ending of a good season.

‘You add up confidence as you win games and we want to win these big games. We don’t want to end this season with a loss. We’re going to do everything we can to get that win. I love to win, going on a short holiday after a win would mean so much more and also having a good feeling at Wembley is something to bring with me to the Euros.

‘I have huge respect for Man City as a team. They have really good players, they have a really good playing style and developed some unbelievable talent. It’s always a tough game playing City, especially now they’re back in form. It’s never been easy, even though we won pretty big in the fall. If you look at the games, they are tight games. It’s always tough to play Man City.’
