For the first time, cameras have captured the extraordinary drama, passion and pressure of life at the top of the fastest growing sport on the planet.

The sports TV documentary series will be available to stream on the leading global sports streaming service, DAZN. The first episode of the series will be released on DAZN and DAZN’s UEFA Women’s Champions League YouTube channel on May 29.

The series tells the tale of a truly remarkable period (2019-2021) when the team need to regain their status at the top in a world where the doors are finally flung open for women in football. Behind the scenes the team is in turmoil, left reeling from their first season without a trophy despite multiple domestic league and cup wins already in the bag. Through the season we will explore the highs and lows of an increasingly professional, commercialised and highly competitive game and all the added pressure those stakes bring.

With unprecedented 24/7 access to the home ground, training sessions, team bus, dressing room, and wherever the season takes them, as well as following the players’ home lives, viewers will get the full and fascinating scope of life at Chelsea FC Women and what it’s like to be a footballer in the pressure cooker of elite level sport. With the club facing high-stakes jeopardy at the most important time for women’s football, anything could happen and the outcome is highly unpredictable.

The six-part series was produced by Fulwell 73 in partnership with Waffle Iron Entertainment and was produced and directed by Alex Sunderland and executive produced by Fulwell 73’s Leo Pearlman and Ben Turner.
