Chelsea Football Club and Junior Blues are celebrating World Book Day today with the announcement of an exciting short story competition!

We are launching a competition for our young fans aged between four and 12 with some incredible once-in-a-lifetime prizes up for grabs, including a VIP matchday experience at Stamford Bridge.

All you need to do to enter is submit your own short story, between 300 to 500 words, featuring our club mascots, Stamford and Bridget. You have until Sunday 5 April to submit your entry, so get writing!

Our panel of judges, including Chelsea fan, comedian and best-selling children’s author David Baddiel, will then be on hand to pick two age-group winners to come to Stamford Bridge, meet some of the players and see the team in action!

If you’re looking for inspiration, then you’ll find some useful story tips from world-famous author of The Gruffalo, Julia Donaldson, over on the Junior Blues website. There, you will also find some more story prompts, videos and competition rules.
