The 2026 FIFA World Cup is down to its final eight, with Chelsea representation in every quarter-final. Here's what's to come as the race for the trophy intensifies!
Argentina – Enzo Fernandez
It was a dramatic turnaround in Atlanta for the defending champions, as Argentina came back from a two-goal deficit against Egypt to secure their place in the final eight with a stunning 3-2 win, in which Enzo scored the late winner.
The ever-present in Argentina's midfield arrived late into the box and headed home to set up a quarter-final tie with Switzerland. Kick-off is due on Sunday, July 12 at 2am UK time.
Belgium – Mike Penders
Penders’ Belgium put four past World Cup co-hosts the United States of America on their way to setting up a mouthwatering clash with current European champions Spain. They'll go head-to-head on Friday July 10, with kick-off set for 8pm UK time.
Mike is yet to feature for the Red Devils in North America.
England – Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah
After finishing top of their group and beating DR Congo 2-1 in the Round of 32, Reece and Trevoh's England enjoyed a memorable night to secure their place in the final eight of the competition.
At the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, England beat co-hosts Mexico 3-2 in a dramatic contest, which means the Three Lions will face Norway on Saturday July 11 at 10pm (UK time) in Miami.
Reece, who has been recovering from a knock, has missed both of England's knockout ties so far, while Trev is still yet to feature.
France – Malo Gusto
Gusto’s France are through to the final eight of the World Cup after victories over Sweden and Paraguay. The right-back featured for the final 15 minutes during their 3-0 win over Sweden, while he remained an unused substitute in their Round of 16 clash with Paraguay.
Heading into the quarter-final with a perfect World Cup record so far, Les Bleus will face Morocco later tonight (Thursday July 9, 9pm KO UK time), where Malo will be looking to earn a semi-final spot.
