The time has come for the 2026 FIFA World Cup final and bronze final, and with players from the Blues featuring in both matches, here's what's to come.
World Cup final
Argentina – Enzo Fernandez
It was another dramatic comeback as Argentina reached a second successive World Cup final with a 2-1 victory over England in Atlanta. After Anthony Gordon had given the Three Lions the lead, our very own Enzo Fernandez levelled with a superb long-range strike before Lautaro Martinez won it in added time.
Enzo has now scored twice at this tournament, having featured in all but one match on Argentina's run to Sunday's final against Spain at MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey, which kicks off at 8pm (UK time).
In the knockout stages, Argentina have overcome Cape Verde, Egypt, Switzerland and England, with one final hurdle now standing between them and back-to-back world titles.
World Cup Bronze final
England – Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah
It was a memorable tournament for the Three Lions, who reached the World Cup semi-finals for the first time since 2018 before suffering heartbreak against Argentina in Atlanta.
Reece started the semi-final, while Trev remained on the bench during a painful defeat that saw the South Americans come back from a goal down. Despite not reaching the final, England will face France in the Bronze final - better known as the third place play-off - in Miami on Saturday, with kick-off set for 10pm (UK time), as both sides seek redemption.
France – Malo Gusto
Gusto’s France weren't able to make it three consecutive World Cup finals as they were defeated 2-0 by Spain. Malo remained an unused substitute as Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro ensured the European champions would be represented at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
The tournament isn't over for Gusto, with the full-back heading to Miami to face England in the Bronze final on Saturday (10pm kick-off UK time). The 23-year-old is set to go head-to-head with Blues team-mates Reece and Trev for third place in the tournament.
