Constant improvement is what Aggie Beever-Jones aims for every season. Yet that is not purely measured through the prism of goals, although she admits finding the back of the net for Chelsea is 'one of the best feelings in the world'.

The 22-year-old Cobham youth product finished last season as the club's top scorer, and this term became the first-ever Blue to net in our opening four Women's Super League matches.

Now back in action after a brief injury layoff, Beever-Jones sat down with us to discuss her targets for the campaign and her love of hitting the back of the net for her Chelsea.

'For me personally, it's always about building on the season before and improving constantly,' she says. 'Sometimes that might not be reflected in the goals and the assists.

'I've always said my performance comes first, and everything else will fall into place. That's the player I am. It's never as easy as strikers get recognised for scoring goals, and the work around that doesn't always get noticed.

'You can have a good game and not score, and that's okay, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I love scoring. It's one of the best feelings in the world. Hopefully, I can continue to build on that, keep fighting and keep playing for the club that I love.'

Positivity is a trait that comes through strongly when speaking to the young forward. So when injury interrupted her strong early form, Beever-Jones adopted a glass-half-full mentality and took the opportunity to give her body some much-needed rest.

After all, she played a key role in our domestic Treble last season and was part of England's Women's Euro 2025-winning squad in the summer before resuming her domestic duties for the start of the new season.

'It was a good start to the season for me personally, especially at the beginning of the season,' explained Beever-Jones. 'I then picked up a little bit of a knock, which set me back, but that's part of football.

'It was frustrating to interrupt my rhythm, but it gave my body some reset time, which is always needed in football, especially when you have triple game weeks and are playing a lot of minutes. Everything happens for a reason, and I'm happy to be back.

'Hopefully, I'm finding my feet again and getting back into the swing of things. It's definitely a marathon, not a sprint. It's never smooth sailing, individually or collectively; there are always bumps on the road.

'We'll get the results, and will come back on top. We've got a long way to go until the end of the season.'
