Chelsea forward Aggie Beever-Jones’ fine performances throughout September has seen her named Women's Super League Player of the Month.
With a goal in each of our first four matches against Manchester City, Aston Villa, Leicester City and West Ham United, the Cobham youth product became the first-ever Chelsea player to score in all four opening WSL games of any campaign.
Beever-Jones set the tone for the new season, scoring our first goal against Man City at Stamford Bridge with a deft touch that lifted the ball over goalkeeper Ayaka Yamashita from an Ellie Carpenter cross.
The England striker got us off the mark once more in the following match away at Aston Villa, with Carpenter once again delivering a pinpoint cross for Beever-Jones to head home.
Leicester City were the visitors to Kingsmeadow the following weekend, and Rick Passmoor's side proved to be tough for us to break down. It was Beever-Jones that proved to be the difference between the two teams, as she confidently converted from an excellent turn and pass in the box by team-mate Erin Cuthbert.
Her fourth, and our first goal against West Ham, was the pick of the bunch. Stepping up to take a free-kick from almost 30 yards out, Beever-Jones curled a stunning strike around goalkeeper Kinga Szemik to the delight of the travelling Blues fans. Her free-kick was also voted by fans as our own Goal of the Month for September.
Congratulations, Aggie!
