Chelsea is delighted to announce an option to extend the contract of Aimee Claypole by a further year until 2026 has been exercised.
The 19-year-old came through our Academy system and signed professional terms in November 2023 when she turned 18. That contract has now been extended until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Claypole made her senior debut for the Blues in a 3-1 win over Aston Villa in the Women’s FA Cup in January 2022, with her WSL bow coming a year later in March 2023.
A successful loan spell at Lewes followed during the second half of the 2023/24 campaign, scoring twice and recording three assists in 11 outings for the Barclays Women’s Championship club.
The teenage forward then made 12 appearances for Swedish side Linkoping during the first half of last season, scoring on her debut and competing in the Champions League.
She returned to England in January for a loan move with Durham, scoring five times and earning a nomination for Women’s Championship Player of the Season.
On the international stage, Claypole represented Finland Under-15s before playing for England at Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 level.
Congratulations Aimee!
