The squad number Alyssa Thompason will wear at Chelsea following her transfer from Angel City has been confirmed.

The 20-year-old joins the Blues having made history in North American women's football. In 2023, Thompson became the youngest player ever drafted into the NWSL and was the first to enter the league straight from high school.

She has signed a contract with Chelsea until 2030 and said after completing her switch: 'Chelsea is such an amazing club, one of the best in the world. Being able to play with players who are the best in the world is an amazing opportunity at such a young age.

'I want to learn, grow and develop a lot. I feel like Chelsea is such an amazing environment to do that in.’

Thompson will not feature in tonight's Women's Super League opener against Manchester City, but when her Blues debut arrives, the United States international will be wearing the No.12 shirt.
