Chelsea goalscorer Alyssa Thompson reflected on a frustrating 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Sunday lunchtime, but assured that the team are still on track to reach our objectives this season.

Thompson scored her second goal in as many matches when her curled effort gave the Blues the lead away at Liverpool after just nine minutes. Yet the team could not capitalise further on that early advantage, which led to a feeling of an opportunity missed after the match.

'We're definitely frustrated,' said the forward. 'I feel like we were doing a lot towards the end, trying to keep the ball and get our chances in.

'I feel like we just need to be a little more connected on the field, defensively and offensively. I think you saw that a little towards the end, we were able to keep it a little more, but we need to do that throughout the game.

'Even though we scored early, I feel like we were still trying to get our footing in the beginning, so it's a case of making sure to start fast and understand everything right when we get on the field.'

The Blues have a tough fixture against Barcelona at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night. Despite Thompson's disappointment over the result, she was confident that Chelsea would bounce back quickly.

'I feel like as a team, we know we're good. We have a lot of quality,' she said. 'I don't think we're too worried about it. We know what we have.

'If we continue to play well and do the right thing, making the right passes, paying attention to the small details, we'll be OK.'
