Andrey Santos believes the 'family' environment at the club is helping to get the best out of him, after the midfielder produced a superb performance to help us beat Burnley 2-0.

It was a battling display at Turf Moor as the Blues remained resilient and defensively rigid against a competitive Burnley side that threatened to pose problems. Pedro Neto gave us a crucial lead heading into the break after he dived on Jamie Gitten’s impressive cross, to head home and break the deadlock.

After the interval, the Blues were forced to stay alert and repel the home side while looking to double our advantage, and although we had to wait, Enzo Fernandez made sure all three points would be coming back to London after firing home Marc Guiu’s squared ball.

Throughout the contest, the ever-present Santos helped to marshal the middle of the park, pouncing on loose balls, while also creating chances for his team-mates, much like Moises Caicedo – a player that Andrey has taken plenty of inspiration from, alongside Enzo and Romeo Lavia.

‘It’s a big victory, so I’m really happy to be here and to play,’ Santos opened.

‘Every day I learn something from Moises, Enzo and Romeo Lavia. Our team is like a family and we help each other every day, and I’m so happy to play with all of them.

‘The most important thing is the three points and the away victory, and now we have to keep going, keep fighting for every game.’

Speaking about the hard-fought contest, Santos explained how much he enjoys getting stuck in and helping to control matches for the Blues.

‘It’s a Premier League game and we knew it was going be difficult,’ Andrey continued.

‘I like to get involved with the tackles, to help my team-mates, and I’m so happy with my performance today, and the performance of the team. We fought very well for the win.’

Santos believes that the battling spirit on show at Turf Moor was embodied by Enzo Maresca, a characteristic that was eagerly encouraged by the head coach before the contest.

‘The head coach told me to keep fighting, for the first and second balls, and I tried to help,’ he added.

‘I’m so happy [with the win] because since I’ve joined Chelsea they all have been sending me messages – even when I was in Brazil – and now I’m so happy to play for them. And to win this game for our supporters.’
