You can read exclusive interview with Andrey Santos and Kerry Dixon in the programme for tomorrow’s game, while we also pay tribute to the late Marvin Hinton.

Santos has enjoyed a promising first half of the season since returning to Chelsea from an extended loan spell with Strasbourg in which he starred in Ligue 1.

The Brazilian international takes us right back to his first steps in the game, which he started playing at the age of four, and explains his love of the different atmospheres inside the stadiums of Brazil, France and England. He also stresses the importance of a tight-knit squad who help each new arrival to settle in immediately.

‘We are like a family, you know?’ he explains. ‘So we have to help each other, like Reece did with me, and like Cucu did. I think this is important because when you get on the pitch it’s much better for us.

‘I arrived here at 18 years old. So still young, with another language, another culture, another club. But since I arrived here, people have helped me a lot.

‘Reece is fantastic. He’s the captain, he helps everyone, and I think this is important for the younger players that arrive here.’

Elsewhere in the programme, legendary Blues striker Dixon speaks to Jim Drewett while signing copies of Chelsea: The Official History for the Megastore and online shop.

Looking back over his long relationship with the club, he comes alive when discussing the historic 1983/84 promotion campaign.

‘The whole season was magical,’ he said. ‘I think there were more than 30,000 fans at the Leeds game when we secured promotion, and we had thousands and thousands following us away. I finished top scorer in the league and the whole season was like a fairytale.’

Following the sad news of Marvin Hinton’s passing, club historian Rick Glanvill takes a look back at the stylish centre-half’s time at Stamford Bridge, his versatility and his determination to stick at the club he loved and fight for his place.

He recounts a conversation with Hinton late in his life, during a visit to the training ground in Cobham, in which he reflected on his achievements, including winning the FA Cup in 1970.

‘I was looking at some photos last week and there was myself and Ossie both either side of the cup, holding it,’ he remembered. ‘I had a good life when I was playing – for a great club to play for.’
