Michy Batshuayi has completed a permanent move to Turkey.

With the transfer window in that country open longer than the one in England, he has moved to Fenerbahce, last year’s runners-up in the Turkish league.

Batshuayi was on loan in the same city last season, at Besiktas, scoring 14 times in 42 games for the Istanbul club.

The striker’s best moment in a Chelsea shirt came in May 2017. It was his goal at West Bromwich Albion that sealed our fifth Premier League title win at the conclusion of his first year in west London.

In his second season, he netted another iconic late goal as we won away to Atletico Madrid, before he joined Borussia Dortmund on loan for the second half of that campaign. There followed time in Spain with Valencia.

Between two separate loan spells in the Premier League with Crystal Palace, Batshuayi was a member of Frank Lampard’s Chelsea squad in 2019/20, scoring six times, including another memorable late winner, at Ajax. In all, he netted 25 goals in 77 appearances for the Blues.

He has 45 Belgium caps to his name and has found the net 25 times for his country.

We thank Michy for his services to the Blues and wish him well at Fenerbahce.
