Many have shared the blue of Chelsea and Everton over the years and ahead of Monday night’s contest, let’s take a look back at some of the memorable names to represent both teams.

Samuel Eto’o

A highly decorated player, former Barcelona and Inter Milan striker Eto’o joined Chelsea in 2014 on a one-year deal. The four-times African Player of the Year was a hit, scoring a hat-trick against Manchester United in the Premier League, whilst also converting against Tottenham, Arsenal and in the Champions League round of 16.

He would remain in England the year after departing from Stamford Bridge, moving to Goodison Park. Four days after signing for the Toffees, Eto’o would score against Chelsea during a 6-3 victory for the Blues.

Ross Barkley

Born and bred in Liverpool, Barkley rose through the ranks at Everton before making his debut during the 2011/12 season. He would cement a place in the starting XI a few seasons later before swapping the north for the south in January 2018.

Barkley racked up a century of appearances at the Bridge, playing a supporting role during our 2017/18 FA Cup victory and 2018/19 Europa League win.

Kurt Zouma

Spending seven years at Chelsea between 2014 and 2021, Zouma enjoyed a successful spell at the club, beginning by winning the Blues’ Young Player of the Season award in his first campaign alongside the Premier League trophy.

Leaving temporarily to join Everton for the 2018/19 season on loan, the French centre-half was a regular as he helped the Toffees to an 8th-place finish in the top-flight. Returning to Chelsea the following season, he would be part of the squad that won the Champions League and Super Cup in 2021.

Asmir Begovic

An ever-reliable shot-stopper, Begovic moved to Chelsea in 2015 to become part of the goalkeeping setup alongside Thibaut Courtois. The Bosnian would make sporadic appearances for the first-team during his two-year spell, earning a winners medal for the 2016/17 Premier League title win.

Moving to Everton after a spell on the south coast with Bournemouth, Begovic would be limited to four top-flight appearances as he served as support for Jordan Pickford.

Frank Lampard

One of our greatest-ever players to pull on a Chelsea shirt, Frank’s spectacular career speaks for itself, winning it all and becoming the club’s all-time record goalscorer. The former midfielder would move into management following his playing career and would become Chelsea's head coach in 2019, guiding the club to qualification for the Champions League while bedding in a new generation of youngsters.

Moving to the dugout at Goodison Park in 2022, Lampard arrived with the Toffees amid a relegation scrap, only four points above the drop zone. However, under his stewardship, Lampard guided Everton to safety and remains well-liked amongst Toffees’ supporters.

Frank would get a chance to say goodbye to the Stamford Bridge faithful when he took over the interim role of head coach at the end of 2023.
