Aggie Beever-Jones says she will continue to push herself to greater heights as Chelsea approach the final three matches of the Women's Super League season.

Beever-Jones took her goal tally in the WSL this season to nine on Wednesday night, scoring twice in our 4-3 defeat at Liverpool.

Having spent the previous two campaigns out on loan - at both Everton and today's opponents Bristol City – few would have predicted the impact the young forward has made in the Blues' first team this term.

The England youth international has become an integral member of the Chelsea attack under Emma Hayes, although she acknowledges she is far from the finished article.

‘It’s been a whirlwind season for me for sure. I think if you said to me at the start of the season where I’d be now I’d laugh and wouldn’t believe it so it’s all very surreal.

'Scoring at Stamford Bridge is definitely a highlight being a Chelsea fan myself – and having my whole family there too. To be honest, it was a dream come true.

'Ultimately I’m happy with the development I’ve had this year, but I know there’s still a long way to go and I want to continue to push myself and drive my personal standards.'

The Blues will continue to chase down Manchester City at the top of the WSL table in the games ahead, and that starts with the visit of Bristol City to Kingsmeadow this evening.

Beever-Jones scored five times for the Robins during her season on loan in the West Country and will always be indebted to the club and their manager Lauren Smith for the experience.

'I’ll always be grateful for both Bristol and Everton for taking me in and looking after me. At Bristol, they made me feel really welcome and allowed me to express myself on the pitch with the game time and build my confidence.

'I’m still in contact with Lauren Smith now and make sure I always thank her for helping me during my time in Bristol.

'Living away from home too made me grow up quite quickly. I definitely felt I matured a lot as a person and a player.'

Today's fixture at Kingsmeadow will be the last with Hayes in the Chelsea dugout. And Beever-Jones is extremely grateful to her current manager for helping mould her into the player she is today.

'She’s played a massive part in my career for sure,' added Beever-Jones. 'She brought me into the first team environment at 16/17, allowed me to express myself at a young age, and become a part of the team.

'It really gave me a taste of what it was like to be a part of a world-class environment.

'She helped with my loans too and keeping in contact so when preseason started I was in a place where we were both happy. She’s always giving me advice and helping me with my development, and I’ll always be grateful for her putting her trust in me.'
