Chelsea FC Women forward Bethany England has been voted as the PFA Bristol Street Motor fans’ Player of the Month for January.
The Blues’ top scorer has received the award after being voted by football fans across the country. England beat off competition from Lauren Hemp, Ellen White and Pauline Bremer of Man City, Chloe Kelly from Everton and team-mate Guro Reiten.
The 25-year-old has been in tremendous form this term having scored 17 goals in all competitions with four of those being in January. England’s first goal of the new year came in our 3-1 victory against Reading when Sam Kerr cleverly flicked the ball into the No.9’s path to calmly round past the keeper. Her performance warranted the Player of the Match award.
The following week she underlined her aerial dominance with a pair of headers in the Blues’ 6-1 win over Bristol City, before showing her superb qualities with a curled left-footed effort in our 4-1 triumph against title contenders Arsenal.
The England international also won the Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Month for January.
